【Press Release】
The signing ceremony of various protocols of Electronic Payment through Internet took place at 3:00 p.m. on 28/02/2008 , at the auditorium on 2/F of the building of Macao Post.
During the ceremony, Macao Postal Savings signed protocols with several government departments and tertiary education institutions. The representatives of which were as follows: Chan Peng Sam, Acting Director of Public Security Forces Affairs Bureau; Lei Siu Peng, Acting Commander of Public Security Police Force; Vong Iao Lek, Acting President of Macao Sports Development Board; Iu Vai Pan, Rector of University of Macau; Lei Heong Iok, President of Macao Polytechnic Institute and Vong Chuk Kwan, President of Institute for Tourism Studies.
Since the establishment of the Platform for Electronic Payment through Internet by Macao Postal Savings in late 2006, the Electronic Payment Service has already been used for the online registration of International Marathon organized by Macao Sports Development Board, as well as the online application for an international conference organized by United Nations University. Currently, it is being used for online philatelic subscription of Macao Post and for online enrolment of the courses provided by Macao Polytechnic Institute.
Starting from now, the Electronic Payment Service will be extended to online payment of fines for traffic offences and the online enrolment of courses at various tertiary education institutions. Online booking of sport facilities is expected to be in service during the second half of the year.
Citizens are able to subscribe the services through Internet and, at the same time, make payment for the said services. Such process is convenient, fast, secured and guaranteed by receiving a receipt at once.
After the ceremony, representatives from the Traffic Department of Public Security Police Force explained how to process the payment of fines for traffic offences through Internet.
