1. Loan Application Qualification

You are eligible to apply for Non-Government Staff Loan if you are employees in Government Agencies with Contrato Individual de Trabalho or currently employed staff of the Institution with which Macao Postal Savings has signed the Protocol for Concession of Individual Loans to the Staff.

2. Loan Application Procedure

• Application Form can be obtained:
  • By clicking here to print the Application Form; (Download)
  • At Macao Postal Savings;
  • At the Institution by which you are currently employed.
• Submit the completed Application Form together with a photocopy of your identity card to your Institution.
• The signature on Application Form should correspond to that shown on your identity card.
• All Application Forms and documents are to be sent to Macao Postal Savings for approval via your Institution.
• Loan approval takes only 1 to 2 working days from the day Macao Postal Savings receives the completed Application Form and the necessary documents.
• Once the Loan is approved, you can bring along your identification document to receive the Loan at Macao Postal Savings.

* Please note that even though your Loan Outstanding is not fully repaid, you can still apply for a new Loan. Under such circumstance, you need to settle your Loan Outstanding upon receipt of the new Loan.

3. Loan Information

3.1. Loan Amount

The maximum Loan Amount can be up to 30% of the annual regular income of client.

The followings are considered as annual regular income:

• Salary;
• Seniority Premium;
• Housing Subsidy;
• Family Subsidy;
• Allowance for Secretary;
• Functional Chief Subsidy;
• Allowance for Error;
• Transportation Subsidy;
• Shift Subsidy;
• Other incomes that are permanently and monthly received.

3.2. Amortization Period

The maximum Amortization Period is:

• 18 months or
• according to the duration of your employment contract if the contract is less than 18 months.

3.3. Monthly Installment

Monthly Installment = Loan Amount ÷ Amortization Period

If the Monthly Installment is too high, Macao Postal Savings may extend the Amortization Period or reduce the Loan Amount.

3.4. Loan Repayment

Monthly Installment is deducted from your monthly salary, starting from the month following the Loan withdrawal month, until the Loan is completely liquidated.

3.5. Risk Premium / Guarantor

3.5.1. Risk Premium

Risk Premium is paid upon receipt of the Loan.

Risk Premium varies according to client’s age, it is about 1% to 2.5% of the Loan Amount.

3.5.2. Exemption of Risk Premium

Non-Government Staff Loan is a type of guarantee-free Loan, it does not require any Guarantor. However if you want to be exempted from payment of Risk Premium, a qualified Guarantor is required to substitute for the Risk Premium. The Administrative Committee of Macao Postal Savings reserves the right to ask for more than 1 Guarantor.

3.5.2.1. Requirements of Guarantor

• Government staff with the form of employment as “Nomeação definitiva” or Macao SAR resident who is a permanent staff of the same Institution as that of the  applicant;
• Salary at least equal to that of the applicant;
• Not a present debtor of Macao Postal Savings

* The above-mentioned requirements are the general requirements. The Administrative Committee of Macao Postal Savings has the discretionary right to decide whether the proposed Guarantor is eligible or not.

3.5.2.2. Documents to be Submitted by Guarantor

• A declaration letter signed by the Guarantor with the signature verified by Cartório Notarial; (Download)
• A photocopy of Macao SAR resident identity card;
• Income proof;
• Employment proof.

3.6. Interest

Interest is paid upon receipt of the Loan. Even though the Interest Rate rises in future, your financial burden will not be increased.
